ORIOR makes internal appointments to management positions
Leading Swiss food group ORIOR AG, which specializes in fresh convenience foods and meat refinement, has appointed Bruno de Gennaro, formerly Head of the Group’s Rapelli competence centre, as Head of the Convenience segment. His successor as Head of Rapelli is Ticino native Glauco Martinetti, who was previously Head of Sales and Marketing at Rapelli. Both men begin their new jobs on 1 January 2012.
The Convenience segment includes the competence centres Fredag, Le Patron and Pastinella, and it concentrates on fresh convenience products for the retail and food service sectors, including ready-meals, pâtés and terrines, fresh pasta, vegetarian products and ready-to-cook poultry and meat products. As well as having overall responsibility for the whole segment, Bruno de Gennaro will also directly manage the Fredag competence centre. He is taking over his new role from Remo Hansen who, after being appointed as ORIOR AG’s CEO in May 2011, has continued to manage the Convenience segment and Fredag pending the appointment of a successor. Bruno de Gennaro has worked in various management functions at ORIOR AG since 1994, most recently as Head of the Rapelli competence centre. In this function he was also a member of ORIOR AG’s Management Board, which he remains.
Ticino native becomes new boss at Rapelli
The new Head of the Rapelli competence centre is Glauco Martinetti, who was born and bred in Canton Ticino. Having graduated in agricultural engineering from the Federal Institute of Technology, he has been responsible for sales and marketing at Rapelli since 2002. Remo Hansen made the following comments: “I’m very pleased that the Board of Directors has decided to make Bruno de Gennaro Head of the Convenience segment. He knows the ORIOR Group very well and embodies our philosophy of staying close to customers, innovating and refusing to compromise on quality. The fact that we have found an internal solution to the succession issue reflects the strength and depth of our management team.”
